BannokOS Description

BannokOS is an open source operating system derived from the well known and widely used Linux Mint distribution, built around the lightweight MATE desktop environment, a clone of the GNOME Classic graphical session and tailored for Thai-speaking users. Available for download as a dual-arch Live DVD You can downloaded the distribution from its official website or via Softpedia (see download link above) as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image of approximately 2GB in size, suitable for 32-bit and 64-bit computers, but supporting only 32-bit applications. Boot options When booting the Live DVD from the BIOS of a PC, you’ll be welcomed by a bootloader that includes several boot options, such as the ability to start the live environment, perform a fresh installation, run a memory test or boot an existing operating system. MATE uses a traditional layout for a performance boost As mentioned, the distribution is built around the lightweight MATE desktop environment, which uses a traditional, single-panel layout, instead of the classic two-panel one. However, it still offers a productive environment. Default applications Default applications include the Chromium and Mozilla Firefox web browsers, LibreOffice office suite, GIMP image editor, TeamViewer remote control software, VLC Media Player, Transmission torrent downloader, Skype VoIP client, KMPlayer video player, Rhythmbox music player, as well as the Warzone 2100, SuperTuxKart and SuperTux games. Bottom line Summing up, BannokOS proves to be a good solution for your daily computing needs, providing Thai users with a fast, stable and very easy to use operating system that is fully compatible with the default Linux Mint software repositories. While the distribution can be used as-is directly from the bootable medium (DVD or USB), you can also install it on a local drive using the built-in graphical installer. It will run well on a machine with an Intel/AMD compatible CPU and at least 512MB of RAM and 12GB free disk space.
