PCLinuxOS MATE is an open source Linux distribution based on the main edition of the PCLinuxOS Linux operating system and using MATE as its default desktop environment. PCLinuxOS is an open source Live Linux distribution, initially based on Mandriva Linux, designed to run entirely from a bootable DVD media or a USB flash drive. It is available in multiple editions, with the KDE (full and mini), LXDE and MATE desktop environments. PCLinuxOS MATE is distributed as Live CD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. It can be easily installed on a local hard disk drive or used directly from the live media.
