Cancerbero Description

Open source watchdog of the network ports Cancerbero is a port scan engine based on nmap that scans the hosts of a defined network once every configured time interval and stores the results in a MySQL database. Cancerbero detects changes from last scan, generates alerts with differences, and optionally sends the alert by mail to the owner of the host. Cancerbero provides a snapshot of the ports which a host has open over time. Also, a web interface is provided for data mining and configuring the system.Cancerbero is a good tool for network administrators with a high number of host to take care.Here are some key features of "Cancerbero":· Discover the alive (not firewalled) hosts.· Scans 1-65535 TCP ports of each host.· Attempts to discover the REAL application and version behind each port.· Attempts to discover the OS of each host.· Store all the information in a MySQL database.· Rescan each host at a defined interval.· Alerts are generated when changes are detected.· Plugins support for extend cancerbero alert generation.· Owners of a host, range or sensor can be defined.· Each Owner can receive by email all the generated alerts or just some (flexible configuration).· White-Lists with hosts or ranges that you don't like to scan can be defined.· Graphical configuration.· Multiple sensors scanning can be deployed.· There is no limit in the number of ranges to scan.· The information can be access through a graphical interface?
