Datasqueeze Description

A graphical interface for analyzing data from 2D x-ray diffraction detectors (wire, image plate, CCD) The interface is simple and intuitive, and the program is easy to use even for those new to x-ray diffraction analysis. Datasqueeze is particularly useful for the analysis of powder diffraction data, diffuse scattering from polymers or liquid crystals, or small-angle scattering from colloids, polymers, gels, or solutions.Datasqueeze is also cross-platform and will run on Macintosh OS X, Windows, Linux. Requirements: · A color monitor display resolution of at least 1024 x 768. The program itself uses about 1015 x 720 pixels, but operating-system-junk (control bars, etc.) tend to chew up space at the top and/or bottom of the screen. Disable these as much as you can. · A Macintosh running at at least 300 MHz. · At least 60 MB of available memory. · 6 MB of free disk space. · Java 1.4.1 or later Limitations: · 10 days trial What's New in This Release: · The user has substantially more control over the appearance and quality of line plots. · You can now make a movie of false color images, to help identify subtle changes from one frame to the next. · New data folding features allow the user to symmetrize the data about the vertical axis, horizontal axis, or center point (inversion symmetry). · A graphical indexing feature allows the user to compare the peaks in a powder diffraction pattern to selected Bravais lattices with variable lattice parameters. · A masking option allows the user to exclude unwanted features in the data from analysis. · A new Fourier Transform feature allows the user to perform a direct Fourier Transform of the raw data. · Instrument parameter calibration is accomplished via a user-friendly wizard.
