KoriBlast Description

Provides several graphical user interfaces and analysis tools to view easily and to explore BLAST results. KoriBlast is a reliable graphical environment dedicated to sequence data mining. KoriBlast combines BLAST searches with advanced data management capabilities and a state-of-the-art graphical user interface. KoriBlast proposes a graphical BLAST scheduler capable of comparing at the same time multiple query sequences against multiple sequence databases using a network or a local BLAST engine. KoriBlast provides several graphical user interfaces and analysis tools to view easily and to explore BLAST results in meaningful ways, facilitating the interpretation of the data. Moreover, KoriBlast is capable of automatically retrieving data from NCBI Entrez databases, integrating valuable information directly into the graphical BLAST reports. Finally, all the information available from KoriBlast can be queried enabling you to quickly locate relevant information while reducing the amount of data to analyse.Note: In order to download and receive a licence key that will allow you to run the application you must register. Here are some key features of "KoriBlast": · A friendly and easy to learn graphical software. · A BLAST scheduler to perform search with multiple query sequences against multiple databases at the same time. · BLAST queries are run using the NCBI BLAST server or a local installation of BLAST. · Cleverly integrated graphical analysis tools providing a very efficient BLAST mining system. · Import additional data (known hits features) by a direct and transparent access to biological data sources. · Imported data are: integrated within BLAST results, displayed within graphical reports, available to filter BLAST results. · Locate relevant information using filters. · Reduce the amount of data to analyse using filters. · Data stored on user's disk drive remain available over time. · Export data to Spreadsheet applications. · Retrieve full hit sequences from remote sequence databases. · Export full hit sequences to FASTA files. · Re-BLAST previous BLAST queries with a single mouse click. · Re-BLAST full hit sequences with a single mouse click. · Display full hit entries using your favorite Web browser. Requirements: · PowerPC (G3 or newer) or Intel Pentium processor. · A Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.5.0 or above. · At least 128 Mo of RAM (256 Mo recommended). · A screen resolution of 1024 by 728 pixels. Limitations: · 14 days trial period. What's New in This Release: · PSI-Blast searches are available from the Search Module and the Analyse Module has been adapted to enable extended analysis of the results (see figure below, and view this video). · Prepare personal Blast databanks from native GenBank, Genpept, EMBL, SwissProt and Uniprot files, using either plain text or gzipped compressed files (view this video). · Install pre-formatted NCBI Blast databanks directly from their native 'tar.gz' files (view this video). · Design search filters enabling pattern matching on hit sequences. · Compare search results to find new, common or deleted hits. · Export KoriBlast data files and filters to share with colleagues having KoriBlast or BlastViewer. · New Sequence Viewer to display and manipulate sequences (extract, translate, get compositions) downloaded from public repositories (see figure below). · Better handling of large projects involving thousands of sequences.
