Firefox add-on that converts mistyped URLs into valid ones Automatically converts mistyped or obfuscated urls to valid ones (using regular expressions one can convert any url). Content-type is preserved. In addition it can automatically obfuscate urls when submitting posts in forums. The last one is a per-domain feature. Also automatic anchor creation on textual url hovering.Often while surfing web sites it's common to encounter mistyped links like http://http//, mainly in forums, blogs and such. This extension automatically translate those mistyped links in valid ones using regular expressions.The add-on comes with 2 default rules whose purpose is to convert those urls I already mentioned above (http://http//) and the ones which are obfuscated in the form of hxxp:// instead of http:// to avoid being referrals of other websites. Custom rules are usable as well, they can be added through the interface accessible from Tools -> QuietUrl Options.The extension can also automatically convert urls typed in text areas and obfuscate them replacing the http:// in hxxp:// when posting on forums; supported forums are phBB, invision and vBullettin but probably others already are because the check is only made on fields name and a lot use the same name attribute (like name="message" or name="post").Also, the add-on automatically creates clickable links when hovering on a textual url with the mouse cursor. If you want to disable it, you have to set this preference: extensions.quieturl.autoUrlTimeout to 0.
