SafariSIA Description

SafariSIA - search your favorite sites using Safari's address bar SafariSIA is a plug-in that enable you to quickly access and search your favorite sites using the address bar in Safari (SIA: Search In Address bar).Install 1 Copy folder SafariSIABundle into either "~/Library/InputManagers" or "/Library/InputManagers". ~ is the shortcut for your home directory. Create "~/Library/InputManagers" or "/Library/InputManagers" if it doesn't exist. 2 Relaunch Safari and open Preferences (choose Preferences from the Safari menu), you should be able to find the new SIA icon.UninstallSimply delete folder SafariSIABundle to uninstall SafariSIAImportant! As many other Safari plug-ins, SafariSIA is based on undocumented, private structures and routes within Safari. If Safari keeps crashing after you applied a Mac OS X upgrade with a new version of Safari, please uninstall SafariSIA to solve the problem. How to use 1 The simplest way to use SafariSIA is to assign a shortname to a URL.For example, you can assign the shortname sia to the URL http://www.horneddragon.com/projects/safarisia/basic/. To access the site, you simply type shortname sia in the address bar and press return.Title: SafariSIA product page Shortname: sia URL: http://www.horneddragon.com/projects/safarisia/basic/ ( To assign shortnames, choose Preferences from the Safari menu and click SIA. ) 2 Search your favorite sites using the address bar.Let's see an example for Google. You can assign the shortname google to the URL http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8. The important part of the URL is the %@. That's the placeholder which will be replaced with your search query. To search google, you simply type shortname google, press space, enter the search query and press return.Title: Google Shortname: google URL: http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 3 Ignore the search query for a search shortname (with has %@ in the URL).In this case, SafariSIA will guess the base URL for you. For example, You assigned the shortname google to the URL http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8. When you type google and press return, you will visit http://www.google.com/ (which is the base URL SafariSIA guessed). What's New in This Release:Added Traditional Chinese localization (Thanks to Jack M. H. Lin).Requirements:Mac OS X 10.3.8Safari 1.2.4 (v125.12) or laterTiger Compatible.
