Zingg! Description
A contextual menu lists apps to open a file Zingg! is a simple contextual menu for the Finder. Zingg! shows you a list of all applications that claim to open a particular file. If you are looking for a similar capability you can find it now built into Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). However, Zingg! lets you configure certain applications to appear always or never in the pop-up, you can also set it to not show Classic applications when the Classic environment isn't running. What's New in This Release: · Fixes a crashing bug which happened under unusual circumstances - unusual in my testing, that is. · There's a new setting to toggle the menu between names and paths with the "option" key. Pressing "Caps Lock" before pulling down the menu still works as before. · Application names can now start with '-' or any other menu metacharacter without messing up the menu. Useful! · There's a new setting to show icons next to each application in the menu. · The application list is again checked for eventual duplicates. · On Panther only, there's a new setting to show "always" applications in italic and "default" applications in bold. · Command-S now saves changes. · The application list can now have keyboard focus, as shown by a focus ring around it. At this point, you can scroll around the list by pressing the arrow keys, page up/down keys, or any alphanumeric key to jump to the first application whose name begins with that character. This won't affect selected rows in any way, though. · Help tags have been revised. · The application type column is now suppressed if classic applications are not shown. · A selection frame is now drawn for unselected rows while the contextual menu is up. · All generic alerts have been changed to critical alerts whenever appropriate. · The installer now refuses to run on system versions older than 10.2.
