Zipedia Description

Zipedia - Firefox add-on that allows you to browse Wikipedia even though your Internet is slow or your it doesn't work. Zipedia it's an offline Wikipedia Browser. When you have no Internet, or when the Internet is so slow, wouldn't it be nice to be able to type (example) 'wikipedia://wiki/Egypt' for immediate offline access to a wikipedia article? You will still need to download the wikipedia XML dump for offline use (see below), but you will not need to run neither MySQL nor mediawiki - nor will you need Internet connection (except for viewing the article images, which will not be available offline). All the (readonly) wiki stuff will be done by firefox itself. The Zipedia addon is cross-platform and It works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. Here are some key features of "Zipedia":· Page viewing: Articles, Talk,· Search: Wildcard search by titleRequirements:· Firefox: 1.5 or later What's New in This Release: · Use firefox sqlite storage API for article title indexing and search · Firefox 3 compatibility · project tracking at http://zipedia.nargila.org/trac
