The British Council draws on its long experience of teaching Employment English to bring you Jobseekers, a series of animated videos with audio, which aims to help individuals develop their English language abilities and skills related to employability and looking for work. British Council is your best starting point for learning English. We can give you the confidence and skills you need to communicate effectively in English. With over 70 years of English language teaching experience, we can help you achieve your goals! Designed specifically for the South Asian market Jobseekers follows four characters, Neha, Arun, Farah and Rohit, as they learn the skills needed for job applications, interviews, and presenting themselves in the best possible light to potential employers. Each character seeks a job in a different sector: food and retail, hospitality and the call centre industry. Rohit’s case is a little more unusual as he has decided to follow his dreams to become a Bollywood star. Together they try to realise their potential by finding professional work. In the first episode, they meet an enigmatic and knowledgeable gentleman who agrees to help them in their search for work. But will they be successful? The Jobseekers series will help you: •Learn useful vocabulary for work •Write job applications, and CV’s / Resumes •Prepare for interviews •Develop your listening skills and interpersonal skills •Improve your pronunciation The language content is aimed at pre-intermediate level learners of English, however the focus on employability and workplace skills will be relevant to all.
