3DM Import for Inventor Description

3DM Import for Inventor is a Rhinoceros 3DM file import add-in for Inventor. Thanks to it you will have the possibility to import geometric data from 3DM files in Inverntor. 3DM Import for Inventor reads polygon mesh data stored in 3DM files and imports it into Inventor. A polygon mesh in a 3DM file is comprised of a set of triangular and/or quad faces. 3DM Import for Inventor creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangle/quad and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then 3DM Import for Inventor will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created. 3DM Import for Inventor is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Inventor and adds a new submenu called "3DMImport" to the Inventor menu. The '3DMImport' submenu consists of the following commands: · Import - Imports a 3DM file. · Help - Displays the 3DM Import for Inventor help file. · Register - Registers your copy of 3DM Import for Inventor. · About - Displays the 3DM Import for Inventor About box. 3DM Import for Inventor comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
