Avendex Description

The Avendex application was designed to be pre-programmed software with more than 32,000 bird sightings (events) that have occurred in North and South Carolina. Users of Avendex can analyze those sightings by year, month, day, location, state, geophysical area, species, species form, pelagic status, or by virtually any combination thereof. Quickly and easily. Effective with Database Edition 9, and Avendex Version 1.5+, users can study reported weather information surrounding about 97% of those 32,000 birding events. Both before and during the life of the event. Using the software, you can: · Quickly get a feel for when a particular species is most likely to occur in either state · Learn which physiogeographic area is most likely to host a particular species · Learn at which specific location a particular species is most likely to occur · Access the facts surrounding particular bird reports quickly and easily including weather information (for most reports, if the users database edition is recent enough) · Explore the birding history of a particular location or area · Graph species occurrence by month based on year, geography, pelagic status, etc.. The possibilities for discovery and increased understanding of our avian world are immense! The data contained in Avendex originates from many sources, such as first-hand reports, e-mail discussions, and printed publications. Some of the data programmed into Avendex lacked date or quantity specifics in its original form; in these cases, developers had to use their own estimates of quantity or date in order to "fit" the data into an objective database. Remember that although a vast amount of bird sightings have been preprogrammed into Avendex, the application does not contain ALL the bird sightings that have been reported from North and South Carolina.
