DICTC Description

The Dictionary Server Protocol (DICT) is a TCP transaction-based query/response protocol that allows a client to access dictionary definitions from a set of natural language dictionary databases. Protocol is created by the DICT Development Group. It is described by RFC 2229. Its goal is to surpass the Webster protocol and to allow clients to access more dictionaries during use.
