FTPMailzipper Description

Emailing files as attachments, particularly large files or files that are possible virus containers, can be a very frustrating exercise. Many mail servers appear to have filters designed to not accept mail with attachments! You can never be sure if the recipient's server has rejected the mail until you get back that annoying message telling you the mail was not delivered! Or not! A number of internet sites have appeared which provide a service to get around this problem. They allow you to upload your files to their server then notify named recipients of the download link by email. Most require some payment, though some are free but with limited functionality. Most broadband users have free webspace provided as part of their contract. Though there are free scripts available to provide file upload to a server much the same as above, many broadband providers will not allow external scripts to be used on that free webspace. However, most providers will allow FTP access to that free space, if not, there is lots of FREE webspace with FTP access out there! FTPMailzipper is a handy piece of software designed to provide a similar upload / mail function from your desktop, so overcoming the restrictions of other systems. Though not a prime design function, it can also easily be used to back up files to a site. FTPMailzipper is a unique sort of FTP client. It has very basic FTP functions, no more than those needed to upload, delete and rename files. This application is not designed to maintain a FTP site, there are many very good FTP clients available if you need more.
