GRASP Description

GRASP is a lightweight and intuitive Java-based application developed mainly for mathematics students and other professionals in the field, aimed to provide you with the means of creating, editing and printing graphs. In this situation, a graph is a mathematical structure created out of vertices (or nodes) and edges (or lines) that connect them together, which can be undirected or directed. Following the download process, you can just launch the program and begin working with it right away, as its installation is not in any way necessary. Basic and simple to understand interfaceThe main window of the utility is fairly easy to handle, but keep in mind that upon startup, the working window for the graph is collapsed to the left, so you will need to drag its edge to reveal it, before being able to start working. GRASP features several menus, the most important of which are 'Run' and 'Tools' as they contain the more relevant functions, while the 'File' menu enables you to start a new graph, open an existing file or save the current one for future usage. Create and customize your graphsWhen designing a new graph, you will need to decide whether it is directed or undirected, then start adding vertices just by clicking with your mouse cursor on the left-side panel, allowing you to arrange them in any configuration you best like. From the 'Tools' menu, you can adjust the 'Adjacency Matrix' of your graph, inputting the proper values on each column and row, then pressing 'OK' to operate the changes, which will draw the corresponding lines between your nodes. Next, you can execute various algorithms from the 'Run' menu, the available options being 'BFS', 'Shortest Path', 'Prim's MST', 'Euler Tour', 'Maximum Flow', 'Graph Coloring' and several others. GRASP can run in three different modes, namely 'Selection', 'Vertex' and 'Edge'. In 'Sel' mode, you can change, when right-clicking a vertex, its shape between circle and rectangle, clear all edges or view and edit its 'Properties' ('Name', 'Height', 'Width', 'Border Color' and 'Fill Color'). Handy graph creation instrumentTo conclude, GRASP is a simple yet very efficient piece of software that is meant to offer you the ability of creating fully customized mathematical graphs in little to no time, enabling you to print them for further work.
