IMGVerify Description

ImgVerify is a free open source .NET class for performing Image Verification. You’ve seen image verification before, places like Digg, Yahoo, and more use it to Prevent automated requests by requiring a user to type in the letters and numbers displayed in an image. Why did you write ImgVerify? I wrote ImgVerify for a couple of reasons. I had recently gotten obsessed with a site that used an image verification system. I tried a variety of methods to bypass the system including analyzing as much of the available code and writing my own character recognition Algorithm. But in the end, the solution was that the image names were just the MD5 Hash of the text in the image. Because there were only 5 characters I was able to generate every potential Combination and automate the online process. I started to want to write my own system but couldn’t find any examples online for .NET (I know there are a ton for PHP), so I just wrote one.
