Kalnote Description

KALNOTE software issues automatic email reminders and alerts based on any data which includes due dates, target dates or anniversaries that require timely action to notify recipients about some matter related to that data. KALNOTE runs on your computer or server in the background. It scans a data source at regular intervals and sends emails to specified recipients based on the contents of the data source and pre-determined qualification tests applied to these contents. Each data source is considered to be a ‘table’ of data ordered in rows and columns. In the case of a spreadsheet this is self-evident. In the case of databases, although the source data may be spread across multiple tables the data retrieved by the scanning process can be treated as a single table. Each row of data is assumed to contain information relating to a real-life object such as a person, a piece of equipment, a library book, an insurance policy or anything that is the subject of regular reminders. Each column is assumed to contain data relating to the row object such as name, address, date of birth, renewal date, location, description, etc. One or more columns are nominated to contain critical data which are used in the qualification tests to determine if that row should generate an email.
