Matroska Pack Full consists of a generous set of audio and video codecs with the primary purpose to facilitate the playback of Matroska files. Its secondary aim is to enable support for an array of other video formats, such as DivX, XviD, WMV and MPEG-4. One of the many advantages of the Matroska container is the high amount of media items that it can compress in one single file. However, its robust construction makes it hard for media players to decode it, playback being possible only with the aid of specialized codecs. Matroska Pack Full is able to carry out this job seamlessly, relying on a collection of audio and video filters that not only decode MKV and MKA files, but extend the list to other video formats as well. You can accommodate it on your system in a few simple steps, with the possibility to manually select the filters to be deployed during the installation process. Depending on your needs, you may only install some of the components, provided that you have previous knowledge on the purpose of each filter. If you don’t, there’s no harm in installing all of the components, the pack’s structure being slim to begin with. Unlike similar codec solutions that include unnecessary codecs, this one comprises a smart selection of filters, such as FFDShow, VSFilter, MPEG2 Decoder, WavPack, FLAC, TTA, MatroskaDiag, Matroska Shell Extension, MKVMuxer and RealSplitter. Out of the above enumeration, the only component that sports an interface is MatroskaDiag, which is a diagnosis utility designed for MKV files exclusively. The rest of them do not need configuration, their presence on your system is enough to enable your player to accept MKV files. In conclusion, Matroska Pack Full is a slim codec package, which, by design, is oriented towards any user category.
