OSS Video Decompiler Description
OSS Video Decompiler is a lightweight software application designed specifically for helping you extract frames from clips and save them to images on your disk. You should pay extra attention during its installation as it offers to download third-party programs that have nothing to do with its functionality. User interfaceThe program embeds all configuration settings in a single layout. It displays additional information about each clip, such as frame count, width and height. The preview panel allows you to check out the frames embedded in the clips and pick the zooming level. Files can be added in the working environment using the built-in browse button (there’s no support for drag-and-drop). Importing/exporting optionsOSS Video Decompiler allows you to decompile videos with the following formats: AVI, MPEG, WMV, ASF, MOV, QT, and WMA. You can export the frames to BMP, GIF, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, EMF, WMF, PCX, TGA, J2K, or RAS file format. Video extracting capabilitiesThe program offers you the possibility to automatically save an image after a certain number of frames, select the saving directory where all frames are stored, play and save per frame, stop playing and saving, save the current frame to a file, and jump to the next frame. Furthermore, you may extract all frames with a single click and check out video (e.g. duration, bit rate, height, frame rate, codec name, frame count) and audio (e.g. duration, frequency, samples count, codec name, channels, bitrate). Tests have shown that the utility carries out the process quickly. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered. Bottom lineAll things considered, OSS Video Decompiler provides a straightforward software solution for helping you extract frames from your favorite videos, and can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
