Perun Description

Edit By Artificial Life is a part of Computer Science, where you focus on simulations of basic principles of real life. What you need, is some simulated life-space, where simple Pseudo-assembler programs called organisms live. These organisms can create their own copies and so reproduce themselves. This is not the only one activity. It depends on an instruction set, you can let them do whatever you want. For example you can give them basic mathematical instructions like PLUS, Minus and instructions to perform INPUT/OUTPUT. Then you reward them with energy for performing tasks like addition of two given numbers. This energy is used for memory and processor time. During breeding new copy is created. Similar to its parent, still not the same. Mutation takes its part in breeding process. Lot of them are obviously lethal but some may lead to new, improved functions. Oddly mutated organisms will be short of energy and die soon. This is the way to Natural Selection. Organisms fulfilling tasks efficiently have enough energy, they are reproducing themselves and surviving. On the other side, if organism is doing his task uneficiently, or even doing nothing, he will find himself in lack of energy and so eliminated by system. You should find more efficient organisms = programs during course of time thanks to MUTATIONS and SELECTION.
