Power Audio Recorder Pro is a twofold audio application that you can use for both recording new WAV, MP3, or WMA files, and editing your newly recorded files or any other existing audio file in any format supported. You can record audio using an external microphone, the line-in port, or save any sound played on your computer into a file. You can easily set up your recording parameters using the wizard, which will help you select the input device, the audio codec and the settings associated to it, and saving options. The recording itself is a one-click operation, and from this window you can go to the output folder, the program settings (as an alternative to the setup wizard), and to the Power Audio Editor - probably the most interesting extra feature of this tool. A simpler version of Power Audio Editor Pro, this editing tool includes a useful graphical representation of the audio in wave format and some basic audio effects that you can use to enhance your recordings. Among these you will find fade in and fade out effects, a volume amplifier, the possibility of adding silence to any part of the audio file, a cut and join tool, and a volume normalizer. Probably it is not the most comprehensive audio editing tool, but certainly a nice surprise that you will not find in other recording tools. Another interesting feature is related to voice recordings. This application includes a voice activation system with specific settings to measure the threshold at which voice recordings will automatically start, pause, and stop, all measured in milliseconds for higher accuracy. In short, with Power Audio Recorder Pro you will be able to make live recordings of your vinyl records and cassette tapes, any streaming audio from Internet sites, and any CD player, TV set, or any other device connected to your computer.
