Once SmartCam is installed, you can find it in the list of webcams of your chat application. From there, you can choose the type of effect you want to apply to your webcam video. If you decide to blur the background, you can easily define the intensity level of the effect. In addition, you can also replace your background with an image from the default collection or from your own photos, or simply use a plain color as background. Another possibility is applying a filter and playing around with its settings to adjust the color, brightness, and contrast of your background image. By clicking the settings icon, you will find a menu with several other options to adjust the resolution, frame rate, mode, quality, and edge smoothing properties of the webcam. You’re also able to choose from normal and head & shoulders only modes. The application works with virtually all Windows-based chat applications available, including QQ, Skype, AnyMeeting, Fuze, Viber, Google Hangouts, and Facebook Chat.
