XSearch Description

After some time, your computer might get filled up with various personal and work related files and folders. It can get a little difficult to find the right item, especially when time is of the essence. Luckily, applications such as XSearch give you the possibility to almost instantly locate files of interest, found under any format.Well-organized interfaceEven though your operating system comes equipped with a search tool, this one aims to be better. Through its intuitive design and speed of processing, it might just be a proper alternative for default search methods. Most of the main window space is taken up by the result table, with a few configurable settings and input field found in a side panel. Configurable search processSince you've most likely used a search engine by now, you are aware that at least a word is required to initiate a search. This process is not different, but puts several options at your disposal to narrow down results as much as possible. You can either look up items by providing its name, through phrases or bits of text contained within files. Depending on your requirements and amount of info you can remember about the missing file, you can choose to look for exact words, parts of phrases, case sensitive search, or even everything but the input text. What's more, the application requires you to select a path for the search process, which is fully customizable. Cleverly blends with your system Additional filter options are available, such as the possibility to set approximate size, modification date and even some specialized settings like whether or not the file is read-only, and more. Filtering is also possible after the search is finished, according to various criteria. Furthermore, a context menu entry can be created when navigating through folders so that you quickly bring up the main window to look up items in specific locations. Frequent sessions can be saved to file, with the possibility to directly launch them without providing any further details. On an ending noteTo sum it up, XSearch definitely lives up to expectations, managing to put up an incredibly friendly environment and a handful of functions that provide the result in a matter of seconds. It performed well in comparison with the built-in Windows tool, so if you're looking for something different, don't hesitate to give this one a try.
