Studying and learning foreign languages can be a really rewarding activity when you get to achieve a mastery of the language, but the stages to get there are numerous and demand a lot of time and even more exercise. One of the basic skills that must be constantly practiced is the pronunciation and it is best to do so with the most commonly used words in order to become as proficient as possible. It actually is a module for another application called Quedoc Quiz Player, which is installed as soon as the Java Web Start JNLP file is deployed onto the system. The graphical interface is quite simple and easy to use, as it presents the exercise in the form of an interactive questionnaire. Each quiz stage is explained clearly, so there are no misunderstandings insofar as the task at hand is concerned. For most questions you will have to match some written words with their spoken counterparts, so its necessary to pay close attention to the sound and thus learn the proper way to articulate the target words. Making the actual associations is done in a very simple manner. First of all, you can use the Play, Pause and Stop buttons to control the audio input, then, when it's time to connect the written and spoken content, simply drag and drop one over the other. When you get the answers right, the pair will disappear, but in case you make the wrong choice, a sound will notify you about that, the items will return to their original places and, on top of all, you will lose a life from those available on the upper right side of the module. Pretty nice as an educational tool, however quite low on features and with so-so sound effects Basic English Pronunciation can be a good starting point, but not the tool of choice for most users.
