CDDB MP3 Tool Description
CDDB MP3 Tool is a software application designed to fetch metadata information for any given directory filled with MP3 audio files, in order to automatically assign missing data. It can be of service to anyone looking to organize a collection of music or to prepare media for playback on external devices (like iPods) by sorting music, for instance.Hassle-free installation and user-friendly interfaceThe setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. As far as the interface is concerned, CDDB MP3 Tool keeps a normal window with a simple look, where you can use the Explorer-based folder structure to easily navigate directories and select MP3 tracks for processing. Automatic and manual tag configurationAs we have mentioned earlier, CDDB MP3 Tool is capable of automatically retrieving metadata for the tracks. However, if it doesn't find anything or inaccurately assigns information, then you can manually fix these issues. The key feature of this app is that is works for tracks in batch mode, thus relieving you of the time-consuming task to edit tags for each file at a time. Check out other handy settingsOther useful options are implemented as well, such as the possibility to check the file structure for errors, create playlists, as well as to rename the files and entire directory. By default, the server used for metadata retrieval is FreeDB but it can be changed into anything else. Evaluation and conclusionThe app does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. It has a good response time to commands and quickly adds metadata. However, it did not correctly assign info to all tracks in our evaluation. On top of that, CDDB MP3 Tool has not been updated for a long time and it may not work on later Windows editions.
