GPS Map Viewer Description

GPS Map Viewer is a lightweight and portable software application that allows you to view maps. It offers support for multiple formats, including KMZ, KML, OV2, ITN, SDF and RTE. As installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and just click it to run. There is also the possibility of saving GPS Map Viewer to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and without previously installing anything. What's important to take into account is that the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries, and no new files are created on the disk, leaving it clean after removal. The user interface is clean and intuitive, allowing you to import map files using either the file browser or drag-and-drop method. It is also possible to drop a directory, in order to explore its contents and open maps. The left side of the screen has a tree view for exploring the directories of any map file (if any). It is possible to export maps to JPEG images, as well as to print them, configure printing settings, and preview printing. The program is pretty light on the system resources, using low CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and works fine, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Although it is not particularly resourceful, GPS Map Viewer offers support for a long list of formats, and it can be easily used by anyone.
