Joboshare DVD to iPad Converter is a DVD ripper that can convert your movies into quite a few different formats, including ASF, AVI, DivX, MKV, MPEG-4, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264, RM, WMV and XviD. The app does come with a few different conversion profiles for the iPad, the iPod Touch and the iPhone. These profiles use pre-configured conversion settings so that the files that you convert are optimized for playback on your Apple devices. They use resolutions of 360p, 480p and even 720p (which is overkill for a file converted from a DVD movie, which has a resolution of, at best, 720x576). When you load a DVD movie, from either a disc, a folder on your PC or an IFO file, all the DVD titles that make it up will be listed on the right part of the screen, from where you can select them and apply a conversion profile. You can convert individual titles or even chapters. There is a video editor that lets you trim your videos. It is a very basic editor and it doesn't let you crop videos, adjust properties or add watermarks, that many other converters let you do. In terms of performance, Joboshare DVD to iPad Converter does not stand out. There are other rippers that are way faster, thanks to their support for GPU acceleration, which this app doesn't seem to have. The quality of converted files is good, though.
