Sonigen Modular is an audio synthesizer that comes as a plugin which enables you to generate countless sounds and shape them as you wish. Right off the bat, if you’re familiar with the basics of music production and how connected modules work, then you should have a blast with this plugin. The rack experience doesn’t necessarily lie in the visual part of it all because Sonigen Modular displays a rather plain interface but as far as functionality goes, it hits the spot. You get to add a bunch of modules, stack them next to each other and connect them via cables as you would normally do with the real ones. As far as results go, just from the default arrangement you can immediately start shaping some sounds with a few knob twists. The modifications you make to any of the settings or parameters are reflected in the output signal which allows you to perfectly fine-tune sound in real-time. In both cases they provide a solid base on top of which they are able to apply their own creative thinking. Sonigen Modular offers a huge range of presets that you can quickly browse and load with a simple click. Customizing an existing preset doesn’t refer to only adjusting its parameters, no, you are free to insert additional oscillators, processors, modulators, controllers, mixers and effects as you see fit.
